Sun Protection and Dehydration
The article that we recommend for this month is titled Athletes with Disabilities. This article contains information about adapted sports for people who have various types of disabilities. On pages six (6) and seven (7) there is specific detailed information regarding the dangers of dehydration and the effect of medications on environmental tolerance. Thermoregulation dysfunction is also discussed as a risk for persons who have neurological disabilities. Other heat related illnesses are described as it relates to persons with disabilities.
