Pacific Center for Special Care | Health & Safety Resources |
The Pacific Center for Special Care is an organization within the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry committed to improving the oral health of people with special needs and older adults on the local, state and federal level. The center offers direct caregivers of people with disabilities and frail elders a training program, “Overcoming Obstacles to Oral Health”. These materials are designed to engage direct caregivers in maintaining oral health of people for whom they are caring. The training materials can be adapted to a variety of educational settings and structures and may be used in a pyramid training program where oral health professionals train facility managers, supervisors, directors, or training staff and they in turn train direct care staff. |
